well, i am new here, and i have a very long story.

i don?t even know where to begin.

I guess what really got me also was a few months ago while having a coffee break during service with my parents, a brother who is a good friend of mine came into the shop. He got married a year ago, and to make a long story short, his wife was deported a few months back. So he had to stop pioneering and work two jobs to keep their apartment. All my mom could say to me afterwards was "oh, the poor guy, having to work 2 jobs, it must be so stressful for him." Like Hello MOM!! Don't you remember me doing that when I was 18 years old? And having a child?? And going to school and working?? But NO! Of course not, after all he was a pioneer so it must be more difficult for him. I am kicking myself for not saying right there and then, you know what? It's a good thing he is trying to take care of his family, he should be commended, that is what the real world is like.. it's not a sheltered fantasy life.

You guys are all right... that's just it. I believe in a God that is loving and caring.. would he want us to be like this? Always stressed out? Feeling suffocated? I have held this in my whole life, and I am scared to death that I am even expressing my views here... It reminds me of the Pharisees, who had ridiculous rules, what did Jesus say? He hated it !! Same here.. so many "unwritten" rules, you're never doing good enough, when you reach 10 hrs a month, you should get 20, when you are a regular pioneer, you should be a special pioneer and so on and so on...

Even at the assemblies, sitting there watching all the model familes!! Its so unrealistic!! They all study, and the kids pretend like its the best thing in the world!!

Funny, I feel like an apostate writing all these things...

Valis, to be honest I didnt know what to expect. But from rmeading a lot of the posts before I posted, I knew that many would be able to understand.. I never realized how many feel the same way my wife and me do. Its the "unwritten" rules from people in the hall that are suffocating.

Well I am definitely ashamed of having an affair.. it was the worst thing I ever did. One thing is for sure, zion sounds like people I know in the hall... That's just it, no matter what you do, its never good enough!! you are there to please people, not God!!! I dont think Jehovah will hold it against you if you miss a meeting to work overtime to support youur family!! but no one else sees it that way.
